Clocktower Medical Centre is happy to offer a nurse led Cervical Screening and Women’s Health Clinic.

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, and screenings are recommended every 5 years for all women and people with a cervix aged 25 – 74 years to detect the Human papilloma virus, which is the cause of most cervical cancers.

Many women avoid or delay their routine screening due to many reasons but statistics show in regional areas at a higher risk of developing cervical cancers than their metropolitan counterparts.

70% of cervical cancers are found in those who have never been screened or overdue.

From July 2022 a self collection alternative became available. This new process is easier but equally as effective and reliable at detecting the virus as a sample taken by the use of a speculum.

More information about self collection can be found at https://www.health.gov.au/…/self-collection-now…

If you are due/overdue or have never been screened make this the year to put your health first, and make sure you are here into the future for those you care about the most.
